Of all the kits by American brand DW Drums, their Performance series sets are probably the most recognisable. That's because they've been widely used for years on stage and in the studio by professionals simply because of their excellent sound and great look. This 4-piece shell set consists of a 22 x 18-inch bass drum, 10 x 8 and 12 x 9-inch toms and a 16 x 14-inch floor tom that all have a beautiful Ebony Stain finish. Please note that this set does not include a snare drum, cymbals or hardware.

DW Drums Performance Series Ebony Stain 22 4-Piece Shell Set

The shells in this set are made using North American maple which grows relatively slowly, giving the wood greater density and resulting in better resonance. The shells have an HVX construction that is unique to DW drums. Eight thin layers are placed on top of one another in a specific order and even the direction of the wood grain is taken into account. The attached video explains this process in more detail. The end result is a deep, low tone with excellent resonance and projection. True-Pitch tension rods ensure stable tuning, which makes drum kits from the Performance series ideal for live applications.

Configuration

As we've already mentioned, this 4-piece shell set consists of a bass drum, two toms and a floor tom only.
